Maniwaki catched a big, raging rally fever, in summer as well as in winter!

When seeking a name for that new event, the organizer remembered this ancient Quebec tradition which is deeply rooted in the host region because of its historical devotion to forestry: raftmen (draveurs) The comparision is relevant: as the raftmen of the time were acrobatic performers on winding rivers, today, rally drivers are acrobatic performers on winding roads. In both cases, swiftness and instinct were and still are necessary skills. Were those raftmen real athletes ? Yes, according to folklore. So if Maniwaki was once the land of raftmen, is it now the land of rallyists? Sure is! The tradition is the same.

Maniwaki is the capital city of the Upper Gatineau Valley, where Desert river meets Gatineau river. The urban area has 10,000 inhabitants, including Kitigan Zibi Algonquin Reserve. Maniwaki already hosts Perce-Neige Maniwaki National Rally , you can reach Maniwaki via Mont-Laurier ( 300km from Montreal, by 15,117) or Ottawa ( Maniwaki is 140 km north of the Nation Capital).. Rally Area 40 km West of Maniwaki. Main stop will take place at Black Rollway Pavillion, in the Forêt de l'Aigle, near spectator sites.

Roads Gravel of course, in forestry zones. Winding, fast, easy roads, especially chosen for your driving pleasure and the beauty of the show.
